After Dakota's sad demise, something clicked in people's hearts and they started calling the police or just going straight to the court to report cases of cruelty to horses. Canadian Voice for Animals - Argentina was summoned to assist in all of these cases. We spoke with the judges and to the superintendent of the State Police of Entre Ríos; we were heard, loud and clear. Two mares: Virginia and Georgia have been removed from their living hell and are now in the process of recovering from their abuse. They have been examined by the vets and diagnosed as having severe trauma from having been maltreated for most of their lives. They now have a bright future awaiting them at our sanctuary: The Eagle's Nest. The media has contributed a lot with several TV segments which are helping us with our crusade:                 Free Horses from Slavery It is thought that there are more than five hundred horses in critical condition in the city of Paraná in the province of Entre Ríos, Argentina. We have started this fight and will continue until we see that horses stop working and dying in the streets because of miscreant owners. We have a decree banning horses on the streets downtown but it has never been respected. Now we have just started collecting signatures to have an ordinance passed banning horses pulling carts in the city for good. In only one day we collected more than 400 signatures and we are planning to collect thousands. Luego del fallecimiento de Dakota. Algo sucedió en los corazones de la gente y comenzaron a llamar a la policía o ir directamente a tribunales para reportar casos de maltrato de caballos. Se solicitó la presencia de Canadian Voice for Animals - Argentina para asistir en los mismos. Hablamos con los jueces de instrucción y con el jefe de la Policía de Entre Ríos y hemos sido escuchados. Dos yegüitas: Virginia y Georgia fueron removidas de los hogares donde vivieron un infierno. Ambas han sido revisadas por el veterinario y se les ha diagnosticado severos traumas por maltrato. Los medios han contribuido muchos con nosotros,  muchos programas de TV nos han ayudado en nuestra crusada: Liberar a los Caballitos de la Esclavitud. Se cree que hay más de 500 caballos en condición crítica en Paraná, provincia de Entre Ríos, Argentina. Hemos comenzado esta lucha y velaremos por que estos caballitos dejen de trabajar y morir en las calles. Tenemos un decreto que prohíbe la  circulación de carros dentro de boulevares pero nunca se ha cumplido. Ahora hemos comenzado a recolectar firmas para conseguir una ordenanza para prohibir  la tracción a sangre en toda la ciudad para siempre, en un solo día recolectamos más de 400 firmas y planeamos conseguir miles.

Not everything is lost No todo está perdido

This is Virginia, as you can see, this poor girl has got scars all over her body. The first day she was very scared and did not let people get close or touch her . Esta es Virginia, como pueden observar, esta pequeña tiene cicatrices en todo su cuerpo. El primer día estaba muy asustada y no dejaba que nos acercáramos o la tocáramos.

This is Georgia, her legs all swollen and very scared too. Poor things they only think about eating. Esta es Georgia, sus piernas todas hinchadas. Pobrecitas sólo piensan en comer.

These two girls need lots of good quality food, vitamins and a peaceful life for the rest of their natural lives. Once they are healthy again they will have a happy life in our sanctuary Eagle's Nest where nobody will  make them suffer ever again. We already have two rescued horses: Kamar and Rainbow. We are sure they will become great friends. Kamar is the only boy so we think he'll be more than happy, despite the fact that he is already neutered. Estas dos pequeñas necesitan mucha comida de buena calidad, vitaminas y una existencia sin sobresaltos por el resto de la vida. Una vez que estén en condiciones llevarán una vida feliz en nuestro santuario El Nido del Águila donde ya nunca nadie las hará sufrir más. Ya tenemos dos caballitos rescatados: Kamar y Rainbow. Estamos seguros de que serán grandes amigos. Kamar es el único muchacho, por lo que pensamos que va a estar muy feliz, a pesar de estar esterilizado.
