SHAME ON THE NORWEGIAN POLICE AGAIN

Help us free Shakira and Panja!
Majlo - the gentle American Staffordshire, who was ordered killed by the Norwegian police in February 2009, because of his breed - will soon be released. Two courts have adjudicated to his favour, and the police finally decided not to appeal the latest verdict.
But as we rejoice this victory and are delighted on behalf of Majlo and his family, a new tragedy is taking place, as the Norwegian police has confiscated two more gentle, innocent dogs and ordered them euthanized. These dogs are mixed breeds, looking a bit like the banned American Amstaff, according to the police. The dogs’ family have protested the resolution, and have even moved to Sweden, where this breed/mix is legal, in an attempt to save their friends’ lives. But still the police refuses to let them go.
Shakira and Panja have been imprisoned since August 2009. The police constantly threaten to kill the dogs if there is a slight delay in the payment of the bills. So far the family have paid about 18.000 dollars for the dogs’ stay in the kennel, in addition to the lawyer’s fee, of about 10.000 dollars.
Shakira and Panja need our help now. Please sign the petition and write to the Police Department and the Department of Justice – asking them to release these two dogs, who have never harmed anyone, and who are so much loved that their family have even left their homeland in order to save them.
Please act now to help these dogs and their family!
