Protesters Rally Against Roo Culls
About 30 people have gathered outside the ACT Legislative Assembly to protest against the culling of kangaroos in the Territory.
The Government plans to kill kangaroos on defence land at Majura, due to overcrowding.
The demonstrators say kangaroos are native animals and should not be considered a pest and they have seen no evidence of starving kangaroos at the site.
Animal Liberation ACT president Bernard Brennan says human activity is to blame for the destruction of native grasslands.
"To blame the kangaroo for the poor condition of our grasslands is like blaming a victim for a crime."
