VENESA HOLDS HER GROUND

VANESA HOLDS HER GROUND

AND

JENNY IS SAVED FROM HER ABUSERS

VANESA CVFAF-ARGENTINA ACTIVIST

Jenny was pulling a cart along Espana Street (very busy street in downtown Parana), the load was very heavy, and the weather was very cold. Because Jenny was so underfed and so terribly maltreated, she collapsed…Vanesa, the newest member of the local forum for Animal Advocates which was founded and is run by CVFAF-Argentina, Vanesa was just around the corner from where Jenny had collapsed gathering signatures for the massacre of dogs in the Southern city of Neuquen, when she was told about a horse on the ground, she rushed to the spot with Julieta (a friend of hers), and  Celeste a long time member of our forum joined the group that had gathered around Jenny, and they started having arguments with the abusers. Vanesa stood her ground, although she was a bit frightened, as this was her first horse rescue. Celeste ran to get some help from Maria Ines' ( Vice President of CVFAF – Argentina), the police were called, and when they arrived the fire-fighters and some passers by had already helped Jenny up, after she was given some shots by the vet...The photo below is from the newspaper; if you look closely, you can see one of the young boys whipping Jenny trying to get her up.

ABOVE, JENNY ON THE COLD ASPHALT...HUNGRY AND COLD, SHE WAS UNABLE TO STAND.

MEET THE MISCREANT FAMILY...THEY WERE VERY ABUSIVE TO THE GIRLS, VENESA, CELESTE AND JULIETA...THE MOTHER ON THE RIGHT HAD THREATENED EVERYONE WHO WERE ON THE SIDE OF THE MARE JENNY.

AS YOU CAN SEE, JENNY IS UNDERFED AND HER FUR IS COLOURLESS AND LOOKS HORRIBLE, WE'RE QUITE SURE SHE HAS NEVER BEEN GROOMED...SHE'S IN A DEFENSIVE MOOD ALL OF THE TIME AS SHE IS AFRAID OF BEING BEATEN AGAIN. THE PHOTO ON THE LEFT IS OFFICER RUBEN COLLIARD AND ON THE RIGHT COQUI, AND CHIEF RUBEN BERTOLAMI.

CHIEF INSPECTOR RUBEN BERTOLAMI, OF THE 7Th PRECINCT ON THE LEFT, SERGEANT RUBEN COLLIARD SQUATTED, AND OFFICER RAMON CASCO ON THE RIGHT…JENNY IS IN THE MIDDLE...IN THIS PHOTO JENNY LOOKS LIKE SHE IS COMING AROUND TO HER RESCUERS.

THE ABOVE PHOTOS ARE THE LATEST TAKEN THIS EVENING AT THE PRECINCT...WE GOT JENNY A NICE WARM HORSE BLANKET, AS SHE HAS BEEN SUFFERING FROM THE COLD...MANY OF YOU, WHO READ THIS, MAY NOT KNOW IT, BUT IT IS NOW WINTER IN ARGENTINA...WARM BLANKETS FOR ALL OF OUR HORSES ARE NEEDED...ALSO WE JUST HAD WORD FROM THE VET THAT JENNY CAN NEVER BE USED AS A WORK HORSE EVER AGAIN...WE ARE NOW CONFIDENT THAT THE JUDGE WILL GIVE US FULL CUSTODY...AND LAST, BUT NOT LEAST, WE HAVE NAMED THIS SWEET GIRL JENNY IN HONOUR OF OUR DEAR FRIEND JENNY WHO LIVES IN NORWAY.

THE ABOVE VIDEO SHOWS THE ARGENTINE RANGERS TAKING OVER THE RESCUE...REGRETTABLY THE VIDEOS ARE VERY DARK, AS IT GETS DARK EARLY IN ARGENTINA, AS IT IS NOW WINTER.

AUGUST 19/2010 JENNY UPDATE

As you can see Jenny looks a lot better, she has had her horseshoes removed; one of her front legs was a bit swollen because of her miscreant owners, but she is now on antibiotics. She's eating very well and looks more vivid. That nice blanket we bought for her is wrinkled and dirty because she loves scratching her back on the ground…She has never been able to do that before as she was always left in her harness… Her mane is looking better, and it's starting to change to a brighter colour.  Jenny is getting used to Coqui, so on Saturday Coqui will attempt to brush her mane and her tail and give her a good brushing…It’s almost hard to think that she was on the asphalt almost dead just a few days ago...SEE NEW PHOTOS BELOW.

SEE HOW NICE AND CLEAN HER FACT IS...AND SHE HAS A NEW BRIDLE.

ON SATURDAY HER MANE AND TAIL WILL BE COMBED AND SHE WILL GET A GOOD GROOMING...WE'LL HAVE TO GIVE HER NICE NEW BLANKET A GOOD WASHING.

ABOVE SEE THE LATEST PHOTOS OF JENNY...SHE IS GAINING SOME WEIGHT AND SHE IS SLOWLY LOSING HER WINTER COAT...SHE IS LOOKING GREAT AND IS LOVING HER FREEDOM
