Thousand of years ago, Egyptians were known as one of the most advanced people in the world but now this outstanding heritage has sank into a dark hole of ignorance and cruelty. Nothing of that past glory remains and in its place a backward and cruel society has arisen.
Despite the fact that animal advocates from all over the country have begged for mercy for years, and continue working tirelessly towards animal's well being, heartless and deaf authorities keep on at a steady pace killing innocent animals.
Their policy has proven wrong but they insist wasting public monies in senseless massacres putting at risk not only animals but citizens and tourists. Nowadays it is not safe to visit Egypt. What was once a paradise, has become war zone since municipal employees try to clean the city of strays shooting them or simply poisoning them.
It is beyond understanding how can Mohammed's followers be so disrespectful with a life that was also created by Allah and that the Prophet Mohammed himself considered sacred and at the same level of a human being.
Hace miles de años, los egipcios eran conocidos como uno de los pueblos más avanzados del mundo pero hoy en día esta imponente herencia se ha sumido en un oscuro pozo de ignorancia y crueldad. Nada de ese pasado glorioso queda y en su lugar una sociedad retrógrada y cruel ha surgido.
A pesar de que proteccionistas de animales a lo largo del país han suplicado clemencia por años y continúan trabajando incansablemente en favor del bienestar animal, las autoridades desalmadas y sordas prosiguen a paso firme la matanza de animales inocentes.
Está probado que esa política es errada pero insisten en derrochar el dinero público en masacres sin sentido poniendo en riesgo no solo a los animales, sino a los ciudadanos y a los turistas. En la actualidad ya no es seguro visitar Egipto. Lo que otrora fuera un paraíso, ahora se ha convertido en zona de guerra ya que los empleados municipales tratan de limpiar las calles de animalitos sin hogar por medio de los fusilamientos o los envenenamientos. Es incomprensible como los seguidores de Mahoma pueden ser tan irrespetuosos con una vida que también fue creada por Allah y que el mismísimo Profeta Mahoma considerara sagrada y al mismo nivel que un ser humano.

Dear Mr. President Mubarack:
Despite the fact that you agreed with several animal activist organizations that the only solution to the stray problem is to spay, neuter and release, we are still getting horrendous reports of indiscriminate shootings and savage cruelty to the strays of Egypt.It would appear that your ministers: Mr. Amin Abaza, Minister of Agriculture and Mr. Habib el Adly, Minister of the Interior, have ignored your instructions and continue to send out their gangs to slaughter innocent dogs and cats every day, hence showing the world that Egypt has been unable to step into the XXI century. Pictures of pointless killings are going around the planet and this is not helping the friendly image Egypt wants to present to any potential tourist because apart from the despicable feeling any person has by looking at these pictures, there is a potential risk to get shot by those vicious employees and this Mr. President is more than an outrage to all who care for other sentient beings. May we please have a response from you with regard to this intolerable situation?

One day, a dying dog approached a follower of Mohammed. The man had no means with which to procure water for the dog, for wells in the desert dry up quickly. He noticed a small pool of muddy water in the vicinity. He tore his shirt, soaked it in the water, placed the dog in his lap and moistened its mouth with the wet cloth. Another Arab who saw this went to the Prophet and said, "One of your followers has touched a filthy animal, a dog, and should therefore not be allowed back here again."
Mohammed questioned, "What was he doing to the dog ?"
"I do not know, but I saw him moistening its mouth with a torn piece of cloth dipped in muddy water," replied the man.
"He is a better Muslim than you are, because he is kind to animals," said the Prophet.

Un día, un perro moribundo se acercó a un seguidor de Mahoma. El hombre no tenía medios como procupar agua al perro, porque los pozos en el desierto se secan rápido. Se dió cuenta de que en las cercanías había un pequeño charco con agua barrosa. Desgarró su camisa, la embebió, colocó al perro en su regazo y le mojó los labios con la tela humedecida. Otro árabe que vió ésto, se dirigió al Profeta y dijo, "Uno de tus seguidores ha tocado un sucio animal, y no debería permitírsele que vuelva." Mahoma le preguntó, "¿Qué estaba haciendo con el perro?".
"No lo sé, pero lo ví humedecer su boca con un trozo de tela sumergida en agua turbia," replicó el hombre.
"Él es mejor Musulmán que tú, porque es bondadoso con los animales," le dijo el Profeta.
